Novant Health Imaging Maplewood proudly announces the addition of the GE 3T Pioneer MRI - the first installation of this revolutionary MRI in North America!
The 70 cm wide bore design means more space and less anxiety.
Ambient cove lighting, which may relieve stress and anxiety, was installed within the 3T room. Allowing pediatric patients to select their favorite color may help to reduce the visual aspect of an MRI scanner, contributing to reduced patient motion and improved image quality.

Formerly known as Forsyth Medical Center Imaging, Novant Health Imaging Maplewood strives to provide the most remarkable patient experience in every dimension, every time. That’s why we have designed our facility to provide you with comfort and peace of mind, all while offering the most advanced technology in medical imaging.
We utilize state-of-the-art equipment in every modality, including the only 3T MRI of its kind in the United States. To help support our claustrophobic patients, we offer a large bore MRI to help ease their anxiety and complete their exam with ease. Additionally, we offer the most advanced MRI screening options available for women. Novant Health Imaging Maplewood is an ACR accredited facility and all exams are performed by a registered technologist, then read by a board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologist.
We are conveniently located on Maplewood Avenue, near Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in a freestanding building to allow for easy parking. We know time is important to you so we offer same day or walk-in appointments for most services as well as provide quiet seating areas, WIFI and complimentary coffee for your comfort and convenience.
At Novant Health Imaging Maplewood, we understand that not knowing the cost of an exam can sometimes feel overwhelming, and we want to ensure all patients have access to the medial care they need, so we offer assistance in determining your exact out of pocket cost. You may call the Financial Navigator Monday - Friday 8am-6pm at 336-277-7299 or toll free 1-888-277-3901 to calculate your medical imaging cost and to help understand what payment options are available to you.
Triad Radiology Associates and Novant Health Imaging Maplewood are pleased to announce a new supplemental breast cancer screening option for women with dense breast tissue: Abbreviated Screening Breast MRI (ASBMRI). Although screening mammography is instrumental in reducing deaths due to breast cancer, mammography can miss some breast cancers─particularly in women with mammographically dense ("heterogeneously or extremely dense") breast tissue. ASBMRI is especially beneficial for these patients.

Your doctor may recommend a breast biopsy to examine the growth more closely than possible with a mammogram. Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center offers stereotactic breast biopsy, an alternative to the traditional surgical biopsy. The procedure uses a special imaging technology to accurately target a questionable lesion, with significantly less pain and no scarring.
